Names are just names.

David says: I took this at Shark Fin's Cove/Shark's Tooth Cove/Shark's Tooth Beach/Davenport Cove/Davenport Beach. Not really sure what the name is, don't care. I took this of my friend Sina shooting some medium of the landscape ten days ago before I drove up to SF for the weekend. I like people in my landscapes more than just basic landscapes almost always.

Canada, and Ojai

Hans says: well it has been a while, or at least it feels like it. so much is in flux. i am getting very little sleep, and am right now in a moment to myself which almost does not happen anymore for better or for worse. today was day two of the cabrillo dental hygiene program orientation. fuck my life its going to be brutal. here are three photos. the first is the ol infinite horizon road thing with some low laying fog. shot in canada on expired Portra 160NC with my Mamiya 6. The Mamiya is a wonderful system and I love it very much, however this specific camera underexposes my photos. The first rolls i developed through it i thought i had just made incorrect exposures, but now i know i have to make an adjustment on the camera. the result has been super thin negs which make it a pain in the butt to print in the darkroom, and yield crappy scans that need a lot of post work. this can be seen specifically in trees of the second photo which is tentatively titled "Turtle: The CamoCat" her markings make it ideal for hiding as she is sitting below a tree in my mothers backyard that is frequented by bald eagles. The third photo is in Ojai, CA. Same film type, same camera. Subject is the Matilija Dam with graffiti. Seth, Noriah, and myself took a drive up there. Seth and I jumped in the water behind the goddamn dam. It was cold, but then again it was February 9th.

P.S. school has started, so ill hopefully be posting a bit more as ill be shooting and printing more.

Joesurf

David says: On my trip back to my home, the richest state by median household income, New Jersey, two days after Christmas, went with my Jewish friend, Joe Kaplow, in Post-Sandy, President Ulysses S. Grant's nations "summer capital", Long Branch, near Seven President's Park, which whom the park is partially named after, where much of the beach fill has been spread opening the area for surfing. Here are a few photos of him among the muck Shore.

BobEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

David writes I began downloading some images from my CF card which had been in there for a while... Anyhow, I came across some picture of Bobby, and began fucking with it while watching the playoffs. Split screen Windows with a big monitor is enjoyable.

the shape of the semester to come

Hans says; hey ya dungles! this semester is almost over. i cannot wait. i feel like i have been massively unproductive. my book project is slowly creeping along (probably going to take all of next semester, and my video class yielded very little. a couple weeks ago while david was visiting i had an idea for a new project to get my brain juices flowing. so i shot a couple of frames to test ideas. next semester i will be doing something like this probably printed really really big. like three or four feet sized sheets of paper! in the dorkroom! i am excite! mission accomplished! here is david looking good and olivia kind of not looking as great because i left out part her face out (sorry). bla bla blablaas..a.
actually i changed my mind. i like both of these.
also fun fact for the day: humanity has successfully photographed a DNA double helix, and by "a" i mean 7 because the electrons coming off the microscope would destroy a single chain. this is pertinent to my intrest in science and photography. enjoy the article (below the photos just so you cant skip to the good stuff) if you also find this interesting, or if you are bored, or if you want to not do whatever it is that you are currently doing, which is for some reason reading David and my blog.
